Dog person here. Karyn Zoldan likes to stay at home, eat bon-bons and take care of dogs. She has been a greyhound adopter since 1998 and has been taking care of other dog breeds/mixes for the past half dozen years. A Tucson Tail, her in-home dog-boarding service, is currently under the Rover.com shingle.
She formerly wrote the Tucson Tails blog for TucsonCitizen.com. Her initial goal in writing that blog was to educate readers about the plight of the Tucson’s racing greyhounds but that soon expanded her horizons by getting involved in the local companion animal community.
Karyn is one of the founding members of the 501c3 non-profit Beading Divas to the Rescue (Beading Divas Bracelets, Inc.). Every month the group chooses a different animal charity to fund-raise for by creating and selling one-of-a-kind beaded bracelets made with donated beads.
Karyn has volunteered for Arizona Greyhound Rescue, Tucson Cold Wet Noses and Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption. She’s a member of Pima Alliance for Animal Welfare (PAAW); on the steering company of the annual mega adoption event, Adopt Love Adopt Local; and on the Save the Saveable (No Kill Pima County) committee.
Aside from greyhounds, senior dogs and going to the dogs…Karyn likes to be active in her neighborhood and community, putter around in the kitchen, hobnob in Tucson’s restaurant scene and write the Circle of Food blog, soak up the local culture and binge on Netflix and library books.
