Wish List Wednesday: Saving at Risk Animals (SARA)
Founded in the summer of 2012, Saving At Risk Animals (SARA) is a Tucson-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works closely with Pima Animal Care Center to save sick, injured, or orphaned cats and kittens at risk of euthanasia.
Since SARA has no central shelter, their cats are placed solely in foster homes —so all get one-on-one medical care and socialization. Because the cats are in foster homes, volunteers get to know their personalities. If you’re looking for a specific type of cat (lap cat, independent, etc.) let them know and they will find you a match.
SARA is always in need of food, litter, toys and other supplies to provide care for cats and kittens prior to be adopted.
Wish List “need list” (no particular order):
Authority cat food from PetSmart (wet food for adult and kitten)
Calming collars, sprays, and refills
Cat carrier (plastic preferred due to easier disinfection between usages)
Clumping and non-clumping cat litter
Dry or canned food (all brands, for all ages) – (Authority or Purina One preferred but not limited to)
Flea/tick spot treatments
Food bowls (metal or glass)
Gift Cards (any amount)
RX Food (Renal, Thyroid, or KMR)
Water dishes (metal or glass)
Wire pet crates
Now about that handsome cat Oliver – He loves to have his tummy rubbed. He’s the sweetest, friendliest “puppy cat” of them all. Oliver came from the Reservation where he was bullied by other cats and covered with wounds. After vet care and plenty of TLC, Oliver just wants to curl up next to you and make up for lost time in the loving department. Will you be the love of his life? He’s ready if you are.
